Squirt and Mango

Yes, these are the two new additions to our family. A pretty goldfish named Mango and a cute, tiny turtle named Squirt (after the turtle on Nemo). After going to "just look" at the pet store the other day, we decided that since our other fish, Lemon, passed away (and yes, we had a burial service for him :-)), that Mango needed another friend. So, as we are looking at the fish, the bunnies, the hamsters, the bearded dragon and all of the other slimy and furry creatures in the pet store, there they were. The turtles. Most of the turtles were the size of my whole hand but there were two that were itty bitty! One was swimming and one was basking in the light. Meag and I knew instantly that THAT was our turtle. Laying and tanning in the light. :-) So, yes, I am a sucker. We left with the cute turtle, turtle food and some things for him to float on. Then, we get home and put him with Mango and watched in laughter. Mango wasn't quite sure of this turtle and Squirt was just swimming away! Then, we decided that they needed more space so we headed to get an appropriate size aquarium. So, now they have plenty of room. Squirt has a light to bask in on top of this vintage architectural piece and they swim all over. It is a pretty cute friendship they have already. So, between Mike, I, Meag, Jack, Mango, and Squirt...we think it is finally time to add some babies into the family! :-)
